Michael Epps, D.O.

Ophthalmologist
Dr. Michael Epps is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in comprehensive ophthalmology, refractive cataract surgery, laser eye therapy, ophthalmic plastic surgery and corneal care. He is dedicated to providing personalized, patient-centered eye care using advanced surgical techniques and evidence-based treatment approaches to help patients preserve and improve their vision.
Dr. Epps earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia, where he was recognized for his student ambassadorship and leadership involvement. He completed his transitional year internship through the USF-HCA Consortium in St. Petersburg, Florida, before completing his ophthalmology residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville, where he served as chief resident from 2023 to 2024. He also earned a Bachelor of Science in exercise science from Florida State University.
Throughout his training and career, Dr. Epps has participated in ophthalmic and medical research involving retinal vascular disease, electroretinography and ocular complications associated with systemic conditions. His published research reflects his commitment to advancing ophthalmic care and improving patient outcomes.
Dr. Epps is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Epps enjoys ultimate frisbee, frisbee golf, hiking, canoeing and camping.
